Info
The “Wings of Tatev” cableway (Armenian: Տաթևի թևեր) was opened in 2010 and became a key element of the modern tourist route to Tatev Monastery. It is officially registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest non-stop reversible double-track aerial tramway.
The 5.7 km route passes over the scenic and deep Vorotan River Gorge, connecting Halidzor village on one bank with the Tatev monastic complex on the other. The trip takes only about 12 minutes and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Syunik mountainous landscapes, making access to the historical monument not only convenient but also an unforgettable adventure. An audio guide operates in the cabins during the ride, narrating the history of the monastery and the region.
